Best Kept Travel Secrets: 6 Private Jet Charter Tips

1. Don’t Invest In A Jet Card The majority of private flights are most cost effective by private charter. Some people tend to use fractional jet ownership or jet cards, but when comparing prices, restrictions, aircraft type, or positioning charges, flying private charter will tend to guarantee you the best price versus jet card or fractional companies. 2. Aircrafts Move, Be Flexible Aircraft is always moving to accommodate different peoples needs. And there are different size aircrafts in this mix. At the same time, people are moving too from place to place. Therefore, you may expect to fly on one size plane and end up finding a different size plane available for similar pricing. Plan to BE FLEXIBLE! 3. Don’t Expect The Same As Commercial Flights There are two major differences between private charter and commercial flights: cost and service/flexibility. The cost will be higher. However along with that is the added benefit of flight choice, times, service provided, hassle factor, productivity gain, and peace of mind for your needs. 4. Voice Your Needs Passenger safety is always first for private charter. However, tell your private air charter company your needs. They most likely will accommodate. Do you have friends to pick up? Odd size baggage to take? Unique flying time to meet your schedule? Dietary restrictions? Privacy? You name … Continue reading Best Kept Travel Secrets: 6 Private Jet Charter Tips

9/11 In Memory of Those We Lost, Honoring Current Heroes

Everyone was affected by 9/11. It is a day that words can never describe. And we will forever have memory of those we lost and those that were heroes to help. And even though all wounds are not healed, time has helped us reclaim our lives and reclaim the sky. We look to do our part to make the world a bit safer. Pilots and aviation experts always have the responsibility in their hands to make the right choices. For everyone’s safety. It is something we take very serious at AeroIQ. There are too many stories of 9/11 to share in one blog but one to share this 9/11 is of Ben Sliney. He was the Chief of air-traffic-control operations at the FAA’s command center in Virginia. He gave the gutsy call to ground 4,000 plus planes across the nation and redirect any in the sky to the nearest airport. It was the first day on the job and this call was his and his alone. Not from the President of the United States. It came from his experience in air traffic control. His decision was a risky choice but he made the right one because it was his gut decision. And, the safe one. About Angel Flight. Angel Flight is a non-profit charitable organization of pilots, volunteers, and friends. … Continue reading 9/11 In Memory of Those We Lost, Honoring Current Heroes

Can I Really Fly A Private Jet For $563.00 One-way?

Well, the short answer is yes. The long answer is not likely. There has been a lot of banter in the press recently discussing how to fly for $200 a seat on a private jet. Does it happen? Yes. Does it happen frequently and should I plan my next trip doing that? No. How does it happen and what does it look like? There is only one operator of private jets that offers this and they do it every day on certain “empty leg” reposition flights. “Empty Legs” refers to flying an aircraft to a position (airport) where it will be used for another service. Typically a flight is referred to as a positioning flight if it is done for logistical, rather than revenue, purposes. They do it because they have another customer paying the full fare (thousands of dollars an hour) from point A to point B. The dilemma is they can’t magically move the aircraft there, so they offer this as part of their advertising budget and to gain a little extra “found” money since the passenger they are going to pick up is really the one footing the bill. These are also offered at 6 pm the day before and you may have to leave at 4:30 AM (to meet the schedule of the other customer) and … Continue reading Can I Really Fly A Private Jet For $563.00 One-way?
